| Want to apply to have your students participate in the Scholarship Tournament? Read the rules below then complete the online form. The Board will review your application and be in contact you within 72 hours of receipt of your application. Scholarship Player Application Requirements: - This is a unique part of the Chess Kings Invitational. All scholarship players are invitation only and has limited space. If you would like your students to be considered for the Scholarship Tournament, please visit complete the Scholarship Request Form - Applicant school must be considered an "in-need" school. "In-need" school can be defined a variety of ways: low income families, high drop out rate, school with high disciplinary concerns. - School does not have to have a chess team in tact, the HHCF typically chooses schools that are looking to start a chess program - Players are not required to be well versed in the game of chess. For many past scholarship players, they were learning chess for the first time just weeks prior to the past events. - Scholarship players can not be Rated Chess Players - Each team must have 5 players ready to participate. 4 players with 1 alternate and a minimum of 1 school advisor must attend with the players - Players will be required to wear sponsor donated team shirts. Shirts will be provided when players arrive for registration - Players must all arrive as a team no later than 9:30am at the Cow Palace for registration and orientation If you meet all the requirements above, please complete the form below |
